An exciting position is available for an Assistant Professor to become part of a team researching
molecular mechanisms of DNA damage responses upon DNA double-strand breaks. Current projects cover
three major aspects in this group: (1) to understand molecular mechanisms of the DNA damage response
and DNA repair in mammals; (2) to investigate molecular mechanisms of drug-resistance of tumor cells
caused by alterations of the DNA damage response or DNA repair pathways; (3) to explore novel cancer
treatments, by inhibiting or activating specific DNA damage response or DNA repair gene(s). The
research projects will be based on our previous works (Yang et al., Cell 2007; EMBO Journal 2006;
Oncogene 2004; Murr et al., Nature Cell Biology 2006; Nakanishi et al., PNAS 2005). This individual
will supervise, schedule and perform experiments in the lab
as well as train researchers in various laboratory techniques. This individual will also assist in
preparing relevant findings as manuscripts and grant proposals for submission to journals and
funding agencies. Other responsibilities will include ordering laboratory supplies, maintaining the
laboratory equipment and records.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or
other related field. Management experience is a plus. Candidates must be able to communicate
effectively, both verbal and written. An appropriate combination of relevant education, experience
and/or certifications will be considered. In return we offer a competitive reward package including
